Big Bear Mountain Resort

Big Bear Mountain Resort, nestled in Southern California, boasts the largest learning area and top-tier instructors. The resort offers an array of lesson options for skiers and snowboarders of all ages and skill levels. Whether you opt for a group or private lesson at Bear Mountain or Snow Summit, you are guaranteed to elevate your skills to new levels. In addition to top-notch instruction, learners receive perks such as priority lift access during their lesson. The ski & snowboard school typically closes for the winter season on April 16, with lift tickets and rentals available until April 23. Snow Summit's school aims to stay open until at least April 30, subject to changing conditions. The resort's private lessons offer a fully immersive, personalized experience and are available for groups of 5 or fewer. Costs vary from $85 to $1,105, depending on lesson size and type.

Heavenly

Palisades Tahoe

At Palisades Tahoe Ski & Snowboard School, learners can experience customized lessons from top instructors. The resort offers access to 6000 acres of diverse terrain across two unique, Gondola-connected mountains. Lessons are available for all skill levels, from beginners to advanced-level mountain guides. Adult group ski and snowboard lessons are half-day lessons, offered both in the morning and the afternoon. In addition, private lessons are available for one-on-one instruction or groups of up to 5 people. Family Private Lessons are also an option. However, booking is not available online and must be done by calling 1-800-403-0206. Prices vary on lesson size and type.

Yosemite

Established in 1928, the Badger Pass Ski Area School at Yosemite proudly offers lessons by professional instructors, many of whom are members of the Professional Ski Instructors of America® (PSIA). Their unique guaranteed program promises that learners will be able to ski or snowboard by the end of their first day. If that goal is not met, learners receive a free voucher for another day of lessons. The package includes equipment rental & helmet, a beginner lift ticket, and a two-lesson package. Group lessons are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Costs start at $85.
